After about another our Alix and I
were done and famished. We decided to have lunch at the nearby bistro. The
soups and sandwiches were amazing. We placed our order, took the pager and sat
down at a both waiting patiently for our meals. I pulled my phone out of my
purse and stared at the text messages from Grayson.

you feeling all right? Didn’t see you this morning.

left your classroom and there’s a sub. Everything all right?

I took a deep breath and responded.

Hey! Just saw your messages. Took the day to
collect my thoughts.

He responded instantaneously.

My eyes opened in shock. He wanted
to see me but I couldn’t fathom why. Alix saw my expression and asked, “What
happened?”
“He wants to see me tonight. Why?”
I looked at Alix perplexed. It didn’t make any sense.
“Well mija, I don’t know what to
tell you. Its up to you if you want to see him tonight.” She replied
matter-of-factly.
“I do and don’t.” I looked back
down at my phone.
“How about you take the rest of
today and the weekend, don’t see him and honestly give yourself the time to
think thoroughly about he conundrum you in.” Her suggestion was in conjunction
with my thoughts.
